This is available as a level 3 qualification from Highfield if taking the optional exam.
What does the Course aim to achieve?
The manager’s role is to lead, mentor and support an employee to proactively engage in their employment, contributing to the growth of an organisation and working in a way that supports the individual’s own growth as well as the organisation’s objectives and values.
The management role involves supporting employees who may present with mental ill-health in the workplace and this qualification provides an understanding of the basic principles relating to supporting mental health in the workplace and promoting a positive ‘wellness at work’ culture.
This mental health first aid qualification can be taken by learners preparing to enter employment or by those who are already in employment.
This training is offered as a 1-day face-to-face course (plus an optional exam for the qualification) or 3 x 90-minute online sessions (with an optional 60-minute exam for the qualification)
Learning Outcomes
Note: this is a two-part qualification with the first part being Highfield Introduction to Mental Health Awareness and the second part being this course covering the topic of mental health first aid for managers.
As both parts have to be taken for the qualification, the timings incorporate both courses.
