How Lauren describes herself: Positive, open-minded and silly
Superpowers: Lauren beat 20 other men to get the top spot on her NEBOSH construction class learning about health & safety in the construction industry
Strengths: Always positive even when things get difficult, Lauren loves nothing more than training people on mental health and helping others understand the power of positive thought
Random Fact: When she isn’t training or creating courses, Lauren can be found spending quality time with her children out on walks and puddle jumping although you may also catch her juggling whilst hula hooping!
Lauren has worked in occupational health, safety and wellbeing for 13 years, originally in construction, moving to UBM for Barbour-EHS in 2008 as an editor and content developer. Lauren wrote and created technical guidance, toolbox talks and information for both employees and directors on all areas of safety, physical and mental health and wellbeing at work.
In 2011 as well as continuing to work at UBM, Lauren worked on Network Rail’s Life Saving Rules campaign, in addition to writing training scripts for iHasco, and writing news and features for Health and Safety Tips and Advice. Lauren moved into the role of Deputy Editor and then Editor of SHPOnline, ensuring all of the most important OSH and wellbeing information was available for health and safety professionals, directors, managers and employees across numerous industries.
As part of The Healthy Work Company Lauren delivers the two-day Mental Health First Aid course, and passionately trains small and larger groups, of all levels, in safety, health, and wellbeing at work – with a particular interest in working with people to make changes to their own mental wellbeing and that of their team’s wellbeing. Lauren also speaks at conferences, team building days and events.
