New appointment for The Healthy Work Company – Lauren Applebey

The Healthy Work Company is pleased to announce that Lauren Applebey has now joined the company as Training Manager and Coach.

Lauren has worked in occupational health, safety and wellbeing for 12 years, originally in construction as a health and safety consultant, moving to UBM for Barbour-EHS in 2008 as an editor and content developer. Lauren wrote and created technical guidance, toolbox talks and information for both employees and directors on all areas of safety, and physical and mental health and wellbeing at work.

 

“Our courses show people from the shop floor to the boardroom, how important our own mental health is, what we can do to help our teams flourish, and how we can become better leaders and communicate more positive cultures.

In 2011 as well as continuing to work of UBM, lauren worked on Network Rail’s Life Saving Rules campaign, in addition to writing training scripts for iHasco, and writing news and features for Health and Safety Tips and Advice.

Lauren moved into the role of Deputy Editor and then Editor of SHPOnline, ensuring all of the most important OSH and wellbeing information was available for health and safety professionals, directors, managers and employees across numerous industries. Lauren still writes news and features regularly for the website.

As part of The Healthy Work Company Lauren passionately trains small and larger groups, of all levels, in safety, health, and wellbeing at work – with a particular interest in working with people to make changes to their own mental wellbeing and that of their team’s wellbeing. From February 2018 she will be teaching Mental Health First Aid.

Of her appointment Lauren said: “I am so excited to be training and coaching so many people in health and wellbeing at work. It is such an important issue and still so misunderstood.

“Our courses show people from the shop floor to the boardroom, how important our own mental health is, what we can do to help our teams flourish, and how we can become better leaders and communicate more positive cultures.

“Having started out in construction, working as a health and safety consultant – I feel I have a really good understanding of the challenges faced day-to-day by managers across many areas of health, safety and wellbeing.”
