This course is designed to give your internal trainers confidence in delivering the First Aid for Mental Health course allowing you to roll a global standard out in a sustainable way. First, we make sure you are confident with the course content by delivering all five sessions to you and providing you with a recording of the session. (You can then chose to take the exam with Highfield or simply have the knowledge tested and receive a Healthy Work CPD certificate).
Next comes our train the trainer course which provides you with confidence in delivering engaging training via webinar. We provide you with slides, instructor manuals and participant manuals for your course and then you deliver them back to us. We provide full coaching and feedback.
Please note that this training can be delivered in languages other than English.
This First Aid for Mental Health course is divided into three sections and delivered over 12 sessions of 90 minutes in total – a mix of pre-recorded and live sessions, homework, feedback and delegates delivering to us.
This is available as a level 3 qualification from Highfield.
“Thank you so much for the insightful and useful training sessions you delivered this week to us at the RSC. Personally I found it fascinating and would have been happy to be there all week. We’re already talking about how to move forward with our policies.”
Whilst we do offer MHFA and First Aid for Mental Health and a peer-to-peer wellbeing conversations course applicable to everyone, we believe that you should focus on managers first.
Why?
MHFA was the first to provide the “first aid” principles which provides a certificate of attendance to all those who engage with the course. Over the last few years a range of new courses have come out which are qualifications – i.e where delegates understanding of the learning outcomes are checked against a series of questions.
We can deliver either course, but if you are a global organisation we recommend the First Aid for Mental Health course.
First Aid for Mental Health has been produced with Highfield Qualifications course and
We have run short webinars with 20,000 attendees and small group sessions of less than 10. We pick material and exercises and lengths of course appropriate to the audience understanding and the numbers, whether it is face to face or webinar delivery.
Every course with the exception of MHFA is tailored to you in certain aspects. We always promote your internal support, any other courses you have on offer in complementary subjects and can include any values you would like to be promoting
We can help with that. We can either run a session with your senior team, point you to resources to support your business case look at the levers which will work for you – e.g. safety performance or productivity or happy employees. In some organisations we suggest getting the conversation started in other parts of the organisation to create a ground swell of support.
We are business people who also have backgrounds in health & safety. Our founder, Heather Beach, has been voted in the top ten most influential in health & safety in the UK for two years running.
We offer Highfield Ofqual regulated qualifications in Mental Health, MHFA England courses and bespoke wellbeing courses tailored to your organisation with your choice of delivery method
We created the Barbour wellbeing service which includes business case support, model policies and selected documents from official providers such as HSE.
We have a proven track record with blue chip names such as ITV, The Telegraph, Luton Airport, IOPC, UBM, West Midland Trains, Eurostar, Game, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Battersea Power Station, Mace and Addison Lee Group.
All our staff have shared values. They are curious, engaging, service driven and trustworthy. We employ only five star trainers and work with you to find the best cultural fit for you.
